I see salvation on the horizon.
It smells like your skin.
I breathe it in deep.

A bookshelf of mispronounced words.
A necklace of bookmarks,
I wear them every day.
From my window, she tells me to go to sleep.

Surround me with clothes to lay up my soul,
Internal showers with animals, trees, sun, and air.
Emerald Lake, tears trickling down my cheek.
Dreams.
Revelation.
Sinking.

I dreamt of rejection. Weeping naked.
Looking in the mirror and seeing that I was in the
wrong place.
Felt the eyes of unwanting wandering all over me.
Knotted up, I asked a friend
Come sit and talk with me.
I cried to him, reaching down, and I dug up
the truth.
He told me it was beautiful, although it was an
aching pain.
I see salvation on the horizon.

Ever-blooming flower.
Reflecting on everything around me;
Every song, every book, every conversation.
I am a trip to the beach,
I’m the sunny spot in the garden,
I’m an owl in the trees, and I’m a shooting star.
I’m a sweet scent,
reappearing like an angel on the cloud.

Hammer and nail. What’s buried is built.
Theres magic in the belly
And a fighter in the ring.
Teeth are a sharp knife
Unraveled over time, I’m relieved.
The earnest truth
Humility unmet.
Swallowing hole and premature sweat.

Ease.
Tender.
Dream.
Just by looking, what’s hers becomes mine.
Strip me down, and what do you see?
My body, your eyes.
An impersonating compassion.

I’m the bubbles of seafoam,
I’m the layers and layers of rock formation,
I’m the soft breeze as you roll down your window to
see the full moon,
I’m the first sound waves that grace your ears when
your favorite song plays.

I find the light in the dark.
Rain, wash us of our sins.
Rain, swim me to the sea.
