your words are not whispers that tickle they are

screeches that shatter a bellowing onset of auditory

exasperation your intonation pounding against

my drums berating their heads your voice echoing

echoing gargled as if spoken underwater it’s

not conversation but drowning cacophony your

sharpness inducing a deafness that rings from

ear to ear oscillating throughout my skull the

ringingrings on ceaseless sirens filling the gaps

of silence silencing my thoughts controlling my

mind incessant static fuzzy and warm but

abrasive a grating comfort a harsh constant

ill forget when it fades out to white noise

but ill miss the initial depth of your sound

the way its bass resonated in my temples and in

my chest the way it used to beat against me the way

it beat my heart your tongue that i lapped up your

inflection that infected me with harmonies of love

and of language your cry invokes a new sensation

in relation to this situation and it pains me to

hear you speak but its absence is splitting rising

higher to a frequency i can no longer make

out i can no longer make out i can no longer

make out i can no longer make i can no

longer no longer longer▲
