Submerged beneath salt and waves
Below all sense of soul and self,
Lies my happy place.
Whole, undisturbed by the surface
Of misplaced indifference
Calm bubbling through my veins…
My happy place, yes,
Where all those around me have long gone insane.
Life flowing through the seams,
Death foaming through crevices,
Combining in anguish
And none would dare complain…
How could they? Words
Cannot escape the deep.
Why have you come here my dear?
Have you noticed no air is near?
Lungs filling with debris—
Causing eyes to cloud with fear?
Submerged beneath salt and waves
Unwelcome to the subconsciously sane
There are no foes to see
In my happy place,
No, all there is to see
Are untamed waves crashing clear.
