The stars forewarned us, their premonitions divine,
As the void beckoned, a sweet siren call from afar
Us miserable creatures seeking a world we may mar,
Saturn weeps, her lost daughter stolen in her prime.
Something lurks out there, perhaps the end of time
Determined to reveal to us all that we are,
To feel one last time the kiss of our gentle, dying star
No sense of fear could ever be as sublime.
Our future bleeds green, far as the eye can see,
May our weak hands entwine, may our one heart empower.
Beyond the hopeless, empty expanse of infinity
In every inch of this universe we may scour,
The two of us are all that is and all that there ever will be—
All this wretched lifetime seeks to devour.
